Why do they do that? Is it just some kind of reaction to pleasure because getting their butts scratched feels so goood? I have had both a male and female dog who I've seen do this, yet I haven't seen my friends' dogs do this. I think I saw my co-worker's service dog lick his nose when I scratched his butt but usually he always turns his body and head to look at what I'm doing back there, LOL! So, anyone know why dogs lick their noses when they're getting their butts scratched?
Can I be honest here, I have never put my hand anywhere near a dogs butt, nor do I ever intend too!
ditto Dan, the fact that you know this whatever your name is, is rather disturbing in my humble oppinion,
I don't mean their butts like the hole, I mean the part just in front of the tail or right at the base of the tail, dogs love that. I just wondered why they licked their noses when you scratched them there. I'm Kate by the way.
They usually do a happy dance type thing if you scratch a dog at the base of the tail. as for licking it's nose, I'm not able to see what it's doing when I scratch it, so can't help.
I was offline when I saw this board topic. And so I gotta comment.
I agree with Dan and Sugar 100%. Nuff said there.
A normal person without mental issues would never stick their hand up a dogs ass for pleasure regardless if its a curiosity. Completely disturbing! Now don't take it personal, those who don't have control of their minds might do something like this.. Really grose by the way why bring up such a topic like this?
why are people being so dumb about this. Kate meant as she said that she was talking about the area in front of the dog's tail, sometimes called the rump. anyone sensible person who has scratched a dog will know exactly what was being talked about, and not keep making damn stupid comments about sticking your hand up a dog's ass.
Blindvi, I also thought that. But did you read her reply to Dan's question? She is talking about scratching the dog's back right at the base of its tail.
For the record, cats like to be scratched there too. I have no idea though why a dog would lick its nose while being scratched there.
Must've missed it. I just glanced at the topic and it's comments. But still, thats disturbing enough. I don't touch my dog's butt unless it's to wash it when she gets bathed to relieve the smell.
I think that all of the people who missinterprited this board topic are the ones with problems. As they were so quick to assume contact with the dogs ainus, perhaps they themselves have some freudian problems to work out in tharapy?
